The wonderfully flexible hue, Periwinkle, is the Jigsaw Design team’s color choice of the month. While it’s true color is a bit debatable, it spans the spectrum between slightly blue and barely purple. This color’s range is vast and can be interpreted to fit almost any style.
Our favorite slant on the blue side of periwinkle is Periwinkle Dream by Valspar.
…and Periwinkle by Dunn Edwards on the lavender side of periwinkle.
This delightfully cheerful color is not just for little girl bedrooms anymore. It can be light and beachy for your coastal retreat, or dramatic for a sexy city abode. A lively place to try the color is the dining room, and one can see how the hue blends seamlessly into the different design styles below. From a circular space in the Parisian apartment with dramatic red contrasting chandeliers, to the coastal and traditional side of the multifaceted color; this refreshing color works beautifully in all scenarios.
Play up layers of pinks, purples and even teal in the living room for color filled spaces that intrigue.
The Periwinkle shade can also create a soothing affect perfectly fitting for the bedroom. The soft periwinkle linens in the cottage style bedroom are the ideal bed companion. We are also loving the p X Ottoman chairs in the traditional room with faintly painted walls.
Make a splash in the kitchen with an updated look for your cabinets or surprise guests upon arrival with a welcoming Periwinkle front door.
Want to try to the color trend, but your feeling a little fickle? Jigsaw’s quick fix recommendations to get the look without a big commitment:
The Gia Lamp in light blue available at Bungalow 5 is a great choice, or simply add a few throw pillows and art work into the mix. We love the framed Agate photograph in periwinkle colors, and the Lulu DK fabric Chant is great for the wall or as a textile.
