Extra seating is always a plus. At Jigsaw, we love adding seating in a fun and playful way. Using benches, stools and whimsical poufs can add that perfect finishing touch.

Pink is not just for Barbie anymore. 2016 is fairing a very fine start for this ladylike hue. Launching these girly vibes into the new year were top celebs on the Golden Globe red carpet. While these divas rocked these gorgeous frocks, the Jigsaw designers will take you down the red carpet in home decor in their pretty pink shades.
Kate Hudson dazzled in her nude meets blush beaded dress reminiscent of I Dream of Jeanine. This soft muted tone is so neutral is can be used on a grand scale or little touches. Like this fun puckered lips print found on etsy. Playing well with most colors, but we find it especially fun with bright yellow in this lighthearted kids space.
Alway chic and somewhat avant-guard is the lovely Cate Blanchett.
Her 20’s vibe with oodles of fringe in pale pink turned heads as usual. The sheen of her dress and the era are reflected in this gorgeous bedroom with pale pink walls, velvet headboard and curtains. We are also loving this pale pink glam velvet sofa with clean lines making the shape more flexible for different genres of style.
Leslie Mann won our hearts in the blush category contrary to famed Perez Hilton’s opinion.
While silk chiffon in blush was complimented by delicate beading, the Jigsaw Design team like to rock this girly color with studs. For example this headboard with nailheads also found on Etsy. Likewise, taking this delicate color to new heights like the cloud geometric print by Lola and Lila could we a lovely finishing touch to your space.
However having a lifetime love affair with Christian Dior we are feeling the bubble gum pink of Katy Perry’s dress, we can’t say the same for the silhouette…sorry Dior…
On the other hand, we can’t get enough of this bubble gum Eames Ball chair. For the more conservative side, try a classic Chippendale style chair in this timeless color.
Once being reserved for little girls rooms, Betsey Johnson and Angeline, this flirty color has made its way into every room of the house in dozens of lovely hues and we are loving it here at Jigsaw! Stay tuned for more exciting colors in 2016 with our Color of the Month Blog Series!

One of our favorite merging design trends to watch for in 2016 is the luminous ever changing shine of iridescent.
The Jigsaw Design team has seen growing popularity in all things iridescent. From wallpaper to furniture options are growing by the number. Take for example artistic furniture designer Patricia Urqiola, Her shimmer series offers tables, consoles and shelving in this opalescent hue that seems to be ever changing from angle to angle.
Iridescent wallpaper is a great option for an accent wall. A hallway or small sitting room are great places to add this look into your home.
Equally, using iridescent tile for a powder room or bathroom add a touch of glam to these spaces. Wether on the wall or on the floor these tiles are available in so many iridescent colors from dark hues to pure white, all with an opalescent rainbow sheen. The iridescent gold above the tub in this master bath gleams with added depth below.
Like the iridescent look but don’t want a big commitment? Add touches of iridescent through a few accessories like a pearlescent vase or bowl on the dining table.
Likewise, the glass globe by Sebastian Scherer is so simple in style but the iridescent sheen makes it wonderfully interesting. For a beachside vibe an iridescent capiz chandelier as a focal point can be the perfect touch. The changing light from every angle will give your room a wow factor!

While previously beloved in more traditional circles, monograming has crossed the divide into the contemporary and modern markets alike. Growing from simple monogramed hand towels to gracing the walls of homes in some cases. Furthermore, making the perfect gift more personal monograming can be your holiday solution for the long list of giving you have to do. For today’s post our designers at Jigsaw have hand selected some of their favorite items or your holiday gift giving.
For the entertainer, the lucite tray from Jonathan Adler makes the perfect gift. This items also serves as a great hostess gift for all the fabulous parties you will attend.
For the world traveler, or the business traveler, customized luggage from Louis Vuitton is the ultimate lux travel item. For the man in your life, the herringbone weekender bag from Mark and Graham makes a great gift he will love you for.
Monogramming in home decor is all the rage right now. We love monogrammed bedding like the Italian Satin from Restoration Hardware. It’s clean and classy and blends well into most decor styles.
Cocktail napkins, hand towels, and coasters are a more traditional choice for gift ideas, but there are so many fun designs and colors available now. The bright fun coasters above are also Mark and Graham.
No time to get something monogramed? Buy items in the marketplace like these hipster throw pillows from Jonathan Adler; or his super soft alpaca monogramed rug…so cozy underfoot!
For the perfectly preppy bathroom, adding a monogramed shower curtain adds a little flair while remaining clean and polished.
Other fun monogramed gift item options are cell phone covers, doormats and bath towels. The possibilities are endless. With the Christmas season in full swing the Jigsaw Design team is spreading cheer in the season’s jolliest trends.
For all of you mid-century lovers the infamous flocked Christmas tree has made a comeback! This beloved fake-snow beauty will be the focal point of your decor as well as the party chatter at you’re swinging holiday shindig. We love the look of mixing modern ornaments with the tradition vibe of the flocked tree to create a fun whimsical tree everyone will love.
How do you get this faux snow look? Well, many Christmas tree farms will sell the flocking service on site and even deliver to your doorstep. In most cases the spray is fire retardant, and is available in different colors and sparkles. You can also try this yourself by mixing corn starch, soap flakes, and water, or shaving cream and glue and then applying with a paint brush. Last but not least, spray snow in a can like Sno-Blower for about $12 and available on amazon.com, simply spray the branches with the Sno-blower (preferably in a well ventilated place like a garage) and let it dry.
Our favorite trend in ornaments are mixing different metals just like the decor in your home. CB2, Crate and Barrel and even Target are carrying a big variety of rose gold, yellow gold and silver ornaments. Notable styles we love are the geometric shapes and metal snowflakes from the aforementioned CB2 and Crate and Barrel. Starting with a basic layer in cream lays a nice foundation for gold and silver ornaments. Pop other fun colors from your space to create your own theme each year. Hot pink for a pop-art vibe or chartreuse or turquoise for a beach look.
What we love about the flocked tree and shiny metallic decor are the layers of light and texture each element brings with it. The perfect culmination to this layered look is the white fur tree skirt. A Mongolian sheep skin tree skirt gives a luxurious texture to the overall look of your tree. It can also be complimented with matching pillows on your sofa or a nearby chair for a clever touch to your space.

A passion for the elegant and timeless Chesterfield sofa is on the rise. This handsome classic tufted sofa can fit harmoniously into most genres of style; from a city loft to a vintage lair the tufted sofa adds that perfect touch.
Legend has it that the 4th Earl of Chesterfield commission the first tufted sofa with a deep seat in the early 1700s hence its name sake. While being both patron of the arts and a politician, Lord Stanhope and Voltaire likely had some interesting debates about life on his comfortable yet groundbreaking sofa.
Interestingly, Anthropology’s Lyre Chesterfield, which is modeled after this 18th century treasure goes for a cool $3K. The Jigsaw team’s favorite attribute of their rendition is it’s availability in 18 colors. Finished with button-tufts, trimmed with nailheads, and rolled English arms complete this quintessential style. For those lovers of antiques and traditional elegance this is the sofa for you.
If you’re a fan of all things retro, then you mid-century brat packers head to Room Service or Mod-shop for the Hot Pink Sinatra Tufted Sofa. Complete with nailhead and in a rainbow of colors this retro chic modern chesterfield is swanky yet cozy.
Gracing royal palaces and chic abodes around the world for centuries this luxurious style had many interpretations. Take Roche Bobois’ point of view with the fresh take on the chesterfield by Phillee Bouix. Upholstered in Cabaret velvet and silk this look is sleek and updated.
We feature our favorite Chesterfields in velvet throughout this post as this rich texture creates such an inviting and luxurious layer to a room. We love the chic and sophisticated tone on tone teal blue u-shaped sofa in Schumacher silk velvet with matching walls.
Whatever your style, there’s nothing tough about loving tufted! The rich and regal colors of navy and gold are this month’s dynamic color combo of the month. These classic colors paired together make for moody comfort like no other. Combined they elevate any style from masculine, beachy, deco, or regency. In this post we will explore the many different looks of navy and gold, plus designer tips and picks from our design team at Jigsaw.
This color combo knows no bounds and can work well in most any room. Navy cabinets in the kitchen are refreshing and refined, as well as in the bath. For a modern twist on the color, use a bold wallpaper in a small bathroom to wow your guests.
Navy and gold in the bedroom can make for a happy marriage. Okay, maybe it takes more than that, but between style and color navy will bring a masculine touch while the gold brings on the glitz and glamour to satisfy the ladies. Laying the colors on top of creams or white will break up the dark color for a soothing bedroom in any style and create the perfect combination for an elegant hotel vibe or a traditional retreat.
Striking and bold or subtle and sophisticated all describe the personality of navy and gold in these living rooms. From a slightly masculine direction in a New York apartment to a light hearted beach-bungalow, melding these colors together make for gorgeous moody glam sophistication.
A great place to experiment with a fresh color combination is in a dining room. Lacquer the walls in navy and drop a grand gold chandelier for high impact to liven up you dinner parties. This color match made in heaven plays well in any type of setting from traditional to modern. The following image includes a navy rug with high back chair and a splash of emerald green that builds a creative setting for an evening of fun in the image below.
Want to get the look? Being classic colors, navy and gold are always pretty easy to find in the marketplace. Starting with a few foundation pieces like a navy sofa or arm chair and pairing them with a gold side table or coffee table is the perfect place to start; then starting building from there. Check out the great Jigsaw Designer picks in the images below.

You know how the saying goes…Go big or go home! Curtains in bold colors and patterns can add tremendous wow factor to a room.
The more patterns the merrier. Mixing different scales of patterns surprisingly keep the overall view of the room from looking too busy. While these rooms have a pretty mellow color pallet as a whole, the mixed patterns from the rug, pillows and curtain play together in a fantastically delightful rhythm.
Don’t be scared of mixing boldly painted walls and drapes in bright hues. Even working in the same color group like the forest green lacquered walls in the following image work perfectly with the chartreuse drapes. An interesting trend to watch is mixing blues and purples, turquoise and purple. Bold moves but very appealing to the eye.
Not that brave? Popping a neutral room with a bold drape creates an exciting atmosphere, and as the trends changes, it’s a relatively easy to update.
We love floor to ceiling yellow drapes for a bedroom shared with hubby, not too girly, but brings a lovely balance of masculine and feminine when paired white black and white or charcoal grey.
The trend we are loving right now at Jigsaw Design Group…layering roman shades in bold patterns paired with dramatic drapes in vibrant colors. This look layered in a room in subtle shades draw the eye to this artistic focal point in the space.

Shoppers are already out and about as the holiday season is upon us. With Thanksgiving around the corner and Christmas on the horizon, you might be feeling the need for a little update in your decor for arriving guests and cocktail party goers. In this post we will highlight some simple quick fixes with on-trend ideas to get your creative juices flowing before that juicy turkey arrives.
Quick fix number one: Throw Pillows. Easily accessible and at any price range, you can instantly update your sofa, settee, or bedroom with throw pillows in the season’s latest colors and patterns. We love throw pillows by trend setters like Jonathan Adler; his quirky light hearted flair will always be of the moment and typically a conversation starter.
Quick fix number two: The Throw. Get cozy on the couch this winter and snuggle up in a new cashmere throw. Treat yourself to the ultimate throw by Hermes. This luscious wonder will set you back about $1500, but oh how it’s worth it! For adding some texture to your space, a fur throw by William-Sonoma is great for the sofa or the bed.
Quick fix number three: The Rug. This change will make the biggest impact on the space due to its size, especially if you choose a bold pattern. How often you like to make changes will influence what you want to spend on your updated rug. A gorgeous high quality Schumacher rug is more of an investment, but will feel wonderful underfoot for a long time to come, and while always current in style they tend to be more classic providing more longevity. If you like to swap out your rugs as trends change, then a West Elm rug or CB2 could be a good option as seen in the image below.
While making only one or two of these changes will be refreshing, updating all three will feel like a new space. To get a little more milage out of your foundational pieces like sofas and accent chairs, try purchasing these high dollar pieces in neutral colors so updating with trends in color and patterns will always be easy with the above quick fixes.

As the clouds roll in this fall, do you find your space feeling a little dreary or in a funk? Elevate your style with a few punches of bold colors to brighten your space and boost your mood.
Even if you are a little color shy by nature, you can illuminate your space with bright pillows, throws and rugs; mixing multiple colors and patterns creates a fresh perspective for the winter season. Whether your walls and furniture are grey or beige tones this is a quick fix that can easily be changed out when you’re ready for a change. This allows you to get the trend without committing to a more permanent item like a sofa or even painting.
Colorful decor pieces on a neutral background always make an impact. Try selecting a piece of art that you love and find bold accessories, sculptures and other decor by pulling colors that compliment the art. A little goes a long way, so no need to overdo this look with too many knick-knacks.
Starting with white walls is the perfect blank canvas for creating a room that is a work of art. At Jigsaw, we love mixing bright bold colors, or strong jewel tones of similar colors in a bright neutral or all white room. This creates a sophisticated space with 70’s undertones.
A dining room is the perfect space for launching your bright new look. The place where you gather with friends and family and share your life. Adding captivating colors are sure to invigorate and excite making a great conversation starter.
This look is not limited by particular rooms, or even styles. It’s perfect in an uptown ladylike apartment, or boho chic haven. Why not apply these same ideas to the kitchen, seriously…who wouldn’t be inspired in bright airy fun-filled space!
We love to use bold color here at Jigsaw and hope you are inspired to add a little bright and bold into you life!!
